Role Overview
Working alongside the HR Manager and wider HR team, the HR Advisor will provide comprehensive support to Truflo Marine’s management population and workforce throughout the entire employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations and recruitment. They will ensure compliance with and effective implementation of all company procedures, policies and employment legislation, and support the HR Team to drive forward best practive HR initiatives and projects across the business. The HR Advisor will be responsible for fostering a positive culture and supporting the HR & management teams to create an environment in which all Truflo Marine employees are able to thrive.
Key Responsibilities
Duties will include but not be limited to: -
Coaching managers through the full employment life cycle to maximise performance and adherence to process
Supporting managers with all ER matters; including grievances, disciplinary matters, redundancies, and absence management cases, whilst ensuring any legal or other risks are mitigated
Maintaining coherent employee relations case files adhering to legal requirements
Maintaining employee relations case tracker and carry out weekly reporting on case progress
Supporting managers in the management of short-term absence and long-term absence including home visits
Supporting line managers with arranging Occupational Health referrals and implementing the necessary adjustments
Managing the recruitment process, from preparation of the approval form and job descriptions, advertising on LinkedIn and with recruitment agencies, assisting with the day-to-day contact with recruitment agencies, shortlisting of all applications, to preparing and conducting interviews and tests where necessary
Maintaining a coherent Recruitment Tracker of all roles at Truflo Marine, and the role status
Build and manage relationships with Truflo Marine’s recruitment partners Supporting Finance with the compilation of the monthly headcount report
Managing the new joiner process from offer stage through to joining instructions, induction and probationary period completion
Supporting line managers with the arrangement staff training and development
Own Apprenticeship Recruitment, liaising with our Apprenticeship provider, liaising with managers to understand requirements, holding assessment centres, through to offer and onboarding
Support & work with the Group IMI Process Automation HR team
Support with projects across the business including ensuring compliance with audits
Support the HR Assistant with any queries, payroll support & delegating any work necessary
Ensuring relationships with all stakeholders are maintained to a high standard, providing regular updates on any issues and support where necessary
Supporting with any ad hoc queries
Supporting with communications to the business via email & on site
Support Managers with the development and delivery of structured retirement plans, with a clear focus on knowledge transfer, cross training, and developing a mentoring/coaching structure and culture in order to reduce single point failures
Maintenance of all IMI Truflo Marine training records
Carrying out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested
Critical Competencies for Success
Bachelors Degree or equivalent, Level 5 CIPD desired
Proven experience at HR Advisor level
Strong experience of managing employee relations cases
Exposure to all aspects of the employment life
Skilled in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate and engage at all levels of the organisation both internally and externally
Good process skills and a drive to secure continuous improvements
Experience in a metrics focused environment including weekly and monthly quarterly reporting and analysis
Ability to work toward and adhere to deadlines
Ability to deal sensitively and appropriately with confidential information
Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ability to work accurately, with attention to detail
High degree of integrity with high personal and professional standards
