Are you an experienced senior leader, dedicated to making a positive impact on young people’s lives?
Due to internal movement, we are looking to appoint an experienced senior leader to the role of Executive Headteacher across Howden CE Infant School and Howden Junior School. This is an exciting opportunity to oversee the development of all primary age groups, and to nurture an inspiring environment for children and staff alike.
The role is up to Full Time and will be paid on TEAL’s Leadership pay scale, points L18 to L24 (£75,675 to £87,651 FTE).
If you are interested in working on a part-time basis, please get in touch and we will be happy to explore this further with you.
What does the role involve?
The post holder will balance the strategic and operational leadership of the two schools and assume overarching responsibility for all aspects of functionality, management, performance and improvement.
The post holder will oversee the schools’ leadership teams and play a key role in raising standards, both academic and pastoral, to ensure the schools continue to build their excellent reputation in the local community.
Why choose us?
Our core purpose is simple – To make great schools and happier, stronger communities so that people have better lives.
We do this by advancing high-quality inclusive education that values all young people equally, through:
1. Ensuring all schools in the TEAL family are successful and all our young people thrive.
2. Developing the next generation of great teachers and leaders.
3. Connecting with civic leaders and influencing the system so that it becomes fairer and more inclusive, sustainable and ethical.
We will always:
* Do what is right.
* Stand shoulder to shoulder.
* Focus on quality in everything we do.
To support this, we:
* Demand ethical leadership built on professional trust.
* Reject fads and ensure our CPD is evidence-informed and predominantly subject specific.
* Have reduced data collections to twice yearly.
* Do not expect staff to respond to emails outside normal working hours.
Above all, we recognise that seeking to remove the number of tasks staff undertake will have little effect on improving work/home balance if this happens within a toxic culture. To support this, we offer training for our leaders to ensure they are able to translate our values into behaviours which are built on the principles of dignity, respect, professionalism and integrity.
We also offer an extensive range of employee benefits as outlined in our employee benefits leaflet.
Further information about the role, our schools and TEAL can be found in the applicant information pack; Executive Headteacher | Job Detail | The Education Alliance Careers.
All applications must be received prior to the deadline of 9:00am on Monday 3rd February 2025.
It is anticipated interviews will follow a two-stage process and will be held week commencing 10th February 2025.
The Education Alliance is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. Clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service prior to appointment and we undertake an online check, in line with the Keeping Children Safe in Education 2024 guidance.
