SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Darwen, Lancashire
Salary: £11.72 - £12.78 per hour (Actual salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30, depending on experience) ...
Hours: 40 hours per week - Term Time Only
We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant (Level 1-2) to join our team in Darwen. In this role, you will support students aged 10-19 with complex needs, such as Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, and related conditions, helping them thrive in a positive and inclusive setting.
The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be crucial in supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with the class teacher to plan and deliver personalised learning activities, encouraging independence, positive behaviour, and emotional well-being.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with planning and delivering lessons and learning activities.
2. Provide regular feedback on student progress and personal development.
3. Monitor and report on individual student achievements in line with school policies.
4. Support behaviour management, tailoring approaches to meet individual needs.
5. Foster students' social, emotional, and personal growth in line with the school's curriculum.
Skills and Qualifications
6. Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
7. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required for student transport).
8. GCSE Maths and English (Grade C/Level 2 or above) - essential.
9. Level 2 qualification in Teaching and Learning Support (desirable).
10. A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
11. Flexible, creative, and able to adapt support to meet the unique needs of each student.
