About the Role: As Head of Boys' PE, you will: Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Boys' PE program, aligning with the school's overall vision and educational goals. Develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, challenging, and promotes lifelong participation in physical activity for all boys. Ensure the Boys' PE program complies with national curriculum requirements and incorporates innovative teaching methods. Lead by example, teaching high-quality PE lessons that foster a love of sport and physical activity amongst boys of all abilities. Oversee the work of PE teachers within the Boys' program, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the Boys' PE program, implementing improvements based on data analysis. Build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents, fostering a positive and inclusive environment within the Boys' PE program. Promote the importance of physical and mental well-being amongst boys, encouraging healthy lifestyle choices. Champion equal opportunities for all boys to participate and excel in PE and sports. Oversee and develop a range of extracurricular sports clubs and activities for boys, catering to diverse interests and abilities. Encourage participation in interschool competitions and external sporting events, providing guidance and support to student athletes. Collaborate effectively with other departments within the school to ensure a holistic approach to student development. Contribute to the wider school community by participating in school events and initiatives. The Ideal Candidate: A highly qualified and experienced PE teacher with a proven track record of success in leading and developing PE programs, particularly for boys. Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of physical activity and sport in young men. Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and empower staff. Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills. A commitment to promoting equality and inclusivity within PE and sports. Ability to utilize data to monitor progress and implement improvements within the program. Enthusiasm for working within a dynamic and ambitious school environment.
