Position Description:
This role is within the Powertrain Test Operations Team (E0-10) which is part of Engineering Operations. This role is part of the EO10 Health, Safety and Compliance team who have responsibility for ensuring compliance to legislation and that operational requirements are achieved. The role is to provide support to the Health Safety and Compliance function with the aim to mentor and coach managers, group leaders, and supervisors to enable them to submit technically correct documentation and investigate incidents, accidents, and audits in the correct manner, reporting findings on a weekly scorecard.
The role will focus on the compliance of documentation, compiling of metrics, and presentation of data to enable focus and decisions to be made. The role encompasses all aspects of Powertrain Testing including ECPL, HV, Safe Systems of Works, Incident Investigations, and new project builds. The role has previously seen a significant reduction in accidents and incidents and has significantly improved the internal and external audit compliance, something that will be a key metric going forwards. The role spans a multi-disciplinary team and will involve interactions from throughout the organisation from director to operator grades. The role requires someone who is proactive in operation and is able to look at new operations and facilities and foresee issues ahead of them occurring. The role requires someone who uses a strong set of Health, Safety and Compliance skills to engage with stakeholders to ensure the task can be completed safely; as well as knowledge of automotive quality Compliance (ITAF16949).
Skills Required:
1. A General Certificate (Level 3) Health and Safety Qualification (i.e., NEBOSH certificate)
2. Min 3 years experience in Health and Safety and compliance in engineering/technical field
3. A 9001 auditor qualification
Experience Required:
1. Experience of working with multi-functional engineering teams with a good practical understanding of the risk assessment process and ability to apply the process to new and novel engineering activities
2. Proven supervisory/management experience
3. Experience of ISO 45001/9001/14001 and ITAF16949 compliance
4. Proven ability to engage and communicate to audience both orally and in writing
5. Comprehensive MS Office experience
6. Ability to mentor and train others
7. A full UK Driving Licence with less than 6 penalty points, no disqualifications, and a 2 years accident-free record
Additional Information:
Supporting the EO10 Health Safety and Compliance Team to ensure the department is compliant with relevant internal and external processes. Support in the timely completion of accident investigations. Knowledge transfer to test facility operational teams. Tracking and closure of issues. Collating data and information to support reporting out weekly, monthly, and quarterly. Develop slide packs and information to support LL4 reporting line quarterly feedback on departmental status and safety performance. Auditing of the project works and contractors' performance. Customer satisfaction and support Department H&S Meetings.
