Your new companyYou will be working for a well-recognised and diversified Tier One Civil Engineering contractor who operates within different sectors such as Highways, Rail and Water. In particular, within the highways industry, they work with large clients such as National Highways and local authorities. Due to increased workload, they are looking for a Site Engineer based in the Southwest to work on an intriguing and high-value roadwork scheme which involves a long stretch of a new dual carriageway.
Your new roleYou will report into the Section Manager and be responsible for, but not limited to, programming and co-ordinating works associated with the main compound, which may involve setting out on site, reviewing drawings, specifications, programmes and site surveys of existing drainage. Furthermore, you will prepare RAMS and complete a daily diary of works being undertaken on-site.
What you'll need to succeedIn order to succeed, you will have experience working as a Site Engineer on highway projects in the past and have the correct qualifications, such as a CSCS Card and an SSSTS or an SMSTS. You will also have good communication skills, as you will be liaising with external stakeholders such as the public and the client. A degree in Civil Engineering is advantageous but not essential.
