Job Description Job Description: 2D/3D Advanced Designer – Roof Glazing Overview: We are seeking a forward-thinking 2D/3D Designer with experience in transitioning from traditional AutoCAD processes to advanced design software, specifically Klaes. This role involves supporting our design team in adopting Klaes, providing expertise in both 2D and 3D design, and collaborating closely with the Operations Director. Key Responsibilities: - Work alongside the Operations Director to integrate and utilize Klaes software for design processes, helping the team transition away from manual AutoCAD methods. - Provide 3D design support and guidance to a predominantly 2D design team, facilitating the enhancement of overall design capabilities. - Support the development of roof glazing and patent glazing system designs, including skylights, lanterns, and other glazing systems for commercial and domestic projects. - Collaborate with the in-house design team on prestigious architectural projects, including renovations of historic structures and modern construction initiatives. - Ensure the highest standards of design, adhering to relevant industry regulations, including BS5516 for patent glazing systems. - Participate in design meetings, offering creative input and assisting in the development of cutting-edge glazing solutions. - Contribute to the design, manufacturing, and installation phases, ensuring seamless end-to-end delivery of complex glazing systems. Qualifications: - Proven experience with Klaes or similar glazing design software. - Strong expertise in AutoCAD (2D) and 3D design software. - A background in patent glazing systems or architectural glazing design is highly desirable. - Ability to lead and mentor team members transitioning to new software platforms. - Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
