We are seeking a Building Control Surveyor to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of construction projects across Westmorland and Furness. As a Building Control Surveyor, you will:
1. Assess building regulation applications to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
2. Undertake site inspections to monitor construction works, identifying and resolving non-compliance issues.
3. Provide expert advice to developers, contractors, and the public on building regulation matters.
4. Investigate dangerous structures and implement appropriate measures to protect public safety.
5. Work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver an efficient, high-quality building control service.
Who we are looking for…
To succeed in this role, you will need:
1. Experience in building control, construction, or a related field.
2. A relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, or a related discipline.
3. Knowledge of building regulations, associated legislation, and standards.
4. Excellent communication and customer service skills to engage with a range of stakeholders.
5. A proactive, problem-solving approach with strong attention to detail.
6. Membership or working towards membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS, CABE, or CIOB.
