Brighter Futures for Children is an independent, not-for-profit company, wholly owned by Reading Borough Council. Our responsibility is to deliver quality children's services, early help, education, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services to children and families in Reading.
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available within the School Admissions Team. The post sits within the Education Access and Support service. You will join an established team and become an integral part of the team, reporting to the School Admissions Team Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist the BFfC’s duty to fulfill the legal requirement to offer children school places within the timeframes.
2. Accurately enter data and verify applications and other relevant information into the School Admissions system.
3. Respond professionally to queries relating to School admissions via telephone and email.
4. Work with parents and carers to address and resolve any concerns/conflicts relating to their individual applications.
5. Maintain and update School Admission logs and records concerning applications and waiting lists.
Experience/Skills Required:
1. Experience of working in a busy office environment, either in education or another service sector organization.
2. Experience of providing information and advice and explaining the impact of complex legislation to customers.
3. Experienced ICT user – ability to use a range of computer packages and systems.
4. Knowledge of school admission processes or ability to learn.
