Job Summary A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Trainee Recovery Practitioners to join Via Cheshire West and Chester. The Role You'll enjoy working with people from all backgrounds, making a difference to their lives – supporting with a variety of individual needs around substance misuse. No two days are the same and we treat every person who comes into our service as an individual, so being flexible, curious and a good listener are key. You'll have to record information about what you do, so enjoying a bit of paperwork and attention to detail is important too. Some of the things you will learn about throughout your traineeship: How to support the recovery team in engaging people who have substance misuse problems, providing them with advice, support and recovery focused interventions to support their recovery and health care needs. Over time with training, build therapeutic relationships and deliver psycho-social interventions. How to participate in people’s assessments and learn to develop individual recovery plans that clearly identify how achieving each goal will enable progression in addressing substance use and re-integrating into the community. Service based recovery communities, and how they can support individual's recovery journeys. How other team members' work, such as our clinical team - developing 'recovery resources' and accessing peer and mutual support groups so that you can support people in developing their own recovery strategies. An interest in the social care sector, within the field of drugs and alcohol. Excellent team working and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to work with managers, colleagues, and peers in order to deliver service objectives. Ability to work and study in order to gain positive outcomes for those who use our service and yourself. Via is an adult treatment and recovery service which offers a range of pharmacological and psycho-social interventions to the Cheshire West & Chester community who are experiencing issues with drugs and alcohol use. Peer Mentor Team delivers support to those who have completed their structured treatment and those who could benefit from additional support during their recovery journey. Location Cheshire West and Chester, with Hub and coverage to be agreed with the successful candidate.
