This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team working within CAMHS Early Help Pathway, working with children, young people, and families as a CAMHS Liaison Practitioner.
This role will be joining an already established team within the CAMHS service. The CAMHS Early Help pathway provides consultation, assessments, and targeted, short-term interventions up to 8 sessions within the I-THRIVE model, focusing on early intervention within children's mental health. The post holder will work as the named Early Help liaison practitioner for schools within the locality, offering consultation, advice, and signposting to services.
The post holder is responsible for supporting the emotional, psychological, and social wellbeing of children and young people with a drive for early intervention. The post holder will actively promote resilience, prevention, and early intervention to children and young people.
The post holder will contribute to the CAMHS advice and support line.
This will be based on a hybrid model of working with access to office/clinical space as well as remotely.
This role will require at least 2 years of post-qualification experience working with children and young people within mental health or equivalent with a professional registration.
All staff are expected to be able and willing to work across a 7-day service.
Main Duties of the Job
* Work as the Liaison practitioner within the early help pathway to deliver consultation, advice, and signposting to community services and schools working with children and young people with mental health difficulties.
* Implement evidence-based targeted interventions and groups evaluated using outcome measures to ensure that children and young people access timely assessments and interventions.
* Represent CAMHS in multi-agency meetings, having oversight of the mental health element.
* Participate in the delivery of training for schools and community services.
* Maintain standards of care to the highest level within available resources.
* Actively participate in line management with junior members of staff.
* Liaise effectively with the other CAMHS pathways and develop and maintain relationships with all providers.
* Maintain confidentiality in respect of the young people at all times.
* Communicate clearly with children and young people, their families, and all other health professionals.
* Actively participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
* Ensure that children and young people are encouraged to play a part in decision-making about the help they need.
* Contribute to the provision of the advice line.

Job Responsibilities
* To work as the identified Early Help Liaison practitioner to deliver consultation, advice, and information sharing for community services and schools working with children and young people who may present with mental health difficulties.
* Co-ordinate and implement evidence-based targeted interventions in a timely manner with an emphasis on early intervention to deliver best outcomes for children and young people.
* Ensure that children and young people access timely assessments and the appropriate targeted interventions.
* Provide 15 clinical contacts with young people and families each week.
* Support the delivery of evidence-based group programmes for children and young people with mental health issues.
* Take a lead in representing CAMHS in multi-agency meetings.
* Ensure planned interventions are implemented effectively and evaluated.
* Provide mentorship for students.
* Participate regularly in recruitment and selection of staff.
Person Specification
Circumstances
* Ability to travel across Plymouth.
* Ability to work flexibly (hours of work and duties) both as an individual and across Livewell if required.
Experience
* Experience of post-registration working with children and young people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
* Experience in assessment, care planning, intervention, and evaluation.
* Experience of working collaboratively with clients and their families/carers.
* Experience of managing demanding and difficult professionals/young people/colleagues.
* Experience of working with families of different cultural backgrounds.
Qualifications
* RMN, RSCN, or RN(LD) registered with NMC or Occupational Therapist/Social Worker (registered with HCPC).
* Postgraduate diploma level specialist training/experience or equivalent.
* Postgraduate experience of 2 years post-registration experience.
Knowledge and Skills
* Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, Crisis Care Concordat, CPA, Clinical Risk Assessment, Safeguarding Children.
* Well-developed communication skills both oral and written.
* Ability to work effectively under pressure.
* Knowledge of different models of therapy.
