The service provides a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients with a focus on risk assessment and reduction, rehabilitation and discharge planning for return to the community.The post holder will be responsible for the provision of specialist forensic mental health nursing care and treatment for individuals who have a mental disorder and have demonstrated offending behaviour or who present a significant risk to others.The post holder will be integral to the multi-disciplinary team, providing assessment and treatment to men of working age within a recovery focused service. There is a need to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork.Personal and professional development is a requirement of the post and will be supported through both internal and external training opportunities.The post holder will be required to work rotational shifts and be required to work a proportion of shifts which include evenings and weekends and may be required to work in other areas of the Trust to meet service needs.You'll be joining a supportive and friendly team that will make your transition into the ward an enjoyable experience. Main duties of the job To carry out joint and individual assessments of children and families who are referred. To decide on appropriate course of action with the children and families, and involved professionals. To devise treatment plans with CAMHS professionals and assist them to carry these through. To undertake and support with complexities around risk assessment and risk management planning. Liaise closely with colleagues across a range of care teams to provide timely, accurate, and effective pathways to care, supporting other colleagues in carrying out direct work themselves wherever this is appropriate. Deliver short term evidence-based interventions to children, young people, and families/carers.
