About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture that brings together international, market leading expertise from four leading civil engineering and construction companies: Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall. All four partners have specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
EKFB is seeking to recruit proven Handover and Completion Engineers. The primary focus of this role is to work within a section of the HS2 project, ensuring that Completion document is embedded and embraced by the Construction Delivery teams, in order that all relevant completions assurance records are collated and retained.
Reporting to the Section Quality & Completions Manager, you will work in a small team for your sector, to implement the quality and completions strategy throughout the construction phase ensuring documentation is collated to enable progressive handover of structures to facilitate project completion.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for handover, completion and commissioning activities in your Project area. Collaborate with Senior Project Managers, Designated Individuals and the Project Quality team to achieve:
1. Handover
2. Completion (L3 Certificate at the end of Technical Lifecycle 5/6)
3. Commissioning
* Collaborate with the Land team to develop and then deliver a programme for land restoration and hand back.
* Monitor readiness using a “T minus” approach to enable timely handover, completion and commissioning.
* Assist with the technical review and close out of ITP quality packs.
* Identify blockers and issues early, suggest potential solutions & enable appropriate corrective action to be considered and taken to protect programme delivery.
* Collaborate with the Commercial team (in Project and Route wide as appropriate) to notify any changes to the process envisaged such as drafting Early Warning Notices and General Communications.
* Manage any H&C matters through the Project Level 1 and Route wide Level 0 escalation process as required.
* Follow handover, completions and commissioning policies, procedures and guidance in the Business Management System, so that required deliverables are understood and tracked.
* Establish and maintain effective and collaborative formal and informal relationships within the wider C23 Handover & Completions community and share best practice.
* Support adequate and effective audit processes.
* Promote best practice and drive innovative solutions, business strategies and project solutions.
* Maintain a relationship with Parent Company functional specialists and foster collaborative working practices.
* Champion the “Speak Up” and “Choices” programme.
About You
* Degree [or similar] level qualification in civil engineering or other relevant field. Ideally a Chartered professional.
* Experience in project execution with a strong background in handover, completion and commissioning activities on major projects.
* Experience in the management of QMS on major multi-disciplinary projects in the construction industry, with multiple stakeholders.
* Ability to drive efficient delivery and business improvement.
* Experience of Technical Assurance Certification packages, Handover and Completion.
* Experience in Network Rail AMP process.
* Experience in the Network Rail GRIP / PACE process.
* Excellent communication and engagement skills.
* You must hold a driving license and have access to a vehicle.
