About the Role:
As a Technology Teacher, you will have the opportunity to deliver engaging and hands-on lessons that ignite students' interest in design and technology. You will be responsible for teaching a range of technology subjects, including Design and Technology, Engineering, and Computer Science. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing students' practical skills, critical thinking abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver dynamic technology lessons that inspire creativity and innovation
- Provide students with opportunities to design, create, and evaluate products using a variety of materials and tools
- Foster a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel empowered to explore and experiment with technology
- Incorporate real-world contexts and industry practices into the curriculum to enhance students' understanding and appreciation of technology
- Assess and feedback on students' progress, identifying areas for development and providing tailored support as needed
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and initiatives that integrate technology with other subjects
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in a relevant technology-related field
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching technology
- Experience teaching Design and Technology, Engineering, or Computer Science at secondary level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their full potential
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends and advancements
