In this role you will be responsible for building and maintaining foundry patterns and related tooling at our modern and air-conditioned facility.
A Day In The Life
* Set up and operate efficiently all machines and equipment in the Tool Room such as grinders, lathes, milling machines, drill presses, saws, planer, sanders, mig, tig, arc and acetylene welding.
* Use all machinists and patternmaker hand tools and precision measuring instruments skillfully.
* Fabricate, assemble, construct and repair metal, plastic and wood parts, tools, jigs, fixtures, master patterns, core boxes and dies from prints, sketches or templates.
* Construct, calibrate, or set gauges and precision measuring instruments.
* Sharpen all tools and work to a minimum tolerance of .001.
* Maintain equipment and working area in a clean and orderly condition.
* Perform other job-related duties as directed by supervisor or group leader.
* Requires a minimum of instruction and supervision.
What will help you thrive in this role?
* High school diploma or GED.
* Have previously completed a Patternmaker apprenticeship program.
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a toolroom environment.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints and design models.
* Detail-oriented.
* Ability to work to a deadline.
* Ability to adhere to company rules and guidelines, including daily attendance.
* Willingness to work overtime as needed.
* Physically fit and able to stand for long periods.
* Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly.
CNC mill and/or ram EDM setup and operation experience preferred.
