Position: Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher
Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher to join our supportive and inclusive school community in Hatfield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing tailored support to help students reach their full potential, creating a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
-Plan, deliver, and assess lessons for students with a range of special educational needs, ensuring they are engaged and able to access the curriculum.
-Work closely with classroom teachers and support staff to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
-Differentiate teaching to meet the individual needs of students and provide personalised support.
-Monitor and track progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and staff.
-Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where students feel supported and confident.
-Collaborate with parents, external agencies, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.
-Support students with emotional, social, and behavioural needs in line with school policies.
-Stay up-to-date with best practices in SEN education and implement effective teaching strategies.
About You:
-A qualified teacher with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status).
-Experience working with students with special educational needs, ideally within a primary or secondary setting.
-A strong understanding of SEN and the ability to differentiate teaching for a range of learning needs.
-Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
-Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
-Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
-A commitment to professional development and staying up-to-date with SEN best practices.
