£11.60 per hour - Paid breaks plus excellent benefits

As a Kitchen Assistant, your role is to assist our Chefs by maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all catering areas. The kitchen porter serves as the cornerstone of our village's culinary operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of the kitchen.
You’ll help us make health happen by:
1. Preparing simple meals and ancillary items for service under the direction of the Chef
2. Washing dishes by hand or loading the dishwasher, you’ll store clean items neatly and safely to minimise breakages
3. Sweeping and mopping kitchen floors to ensure they’re free from grease or spillage at all times
4. Washing work tables, walls, kitchen equipment and appliances, adhering to cleaning schedules
5. Operating kitchen equipment and transferring this safely between storage and work areas
6. Ensuring the kitchen is kept tidy and left secure, rubbish is removed, and all supplies are put away in the correct place
7. Adhering to company Food Safety and Health and Safety policies at all times, maintaining all records outlined in the HACCP policy
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
Ideally possessing prior experience in a catering department or kitchen is beneficial. Being organized and adaptable, you are capable of working effectively within a team and independently.
