Service Engineer - Fire / Intruder / Security Systems Peterborough £30,000 - £45,000 Job Description: Service Engineer - Fire / Intruder / Security Systems We are currently seeking a dedicated Service Engineer to join our team. The Service Engineer will be responsible for carrying out planned maintenance of security systems and life safety systems in accordance with the correct standard. Additionally, they will conduct system demonstrations for customers, carry out fault finding, complete paperwork to the required standard, and program systems with an understanding of cause and effect. Effective control of stock and vehicle audit, along with awareness of health and safety regulations, is essential. The ideal candidate will present a professional appearance and possess a comprehensive understanding of BS5839:1, BS5266:1, and BS7671. Key Responsibilities: Carrying out planned maintenance of security systems and life safety systems in accordance with the correct standard. Conducting system demonstrations for customers as required. Carrying out fault finding on systems and resolving issues effectively. Completing paperwork to the required standard, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. Programming systems and demonstrating an understanding of cause and effect. Effective control of stock and vehicle audit to maintain inventory and equipment. Maintaining awareness of health and safety regulations and adhering to them at all times. Presenting a professional appearance while representing the company. Understanding and applying standards such as BS5839:1, BS5266:1, and BS7671. Experience with BAFE SP203-1 is preferred. Working on your own initiative to resolve issues and proactively avoid problems. Good communication skills with colleagues and engineers. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team or independently as needed.
