Role purpose Translational imaging is a key pillar in our science strategy, and we have established a suite of technologies to advance our collaborators’ drug development programmes. We are building our capability in the characterisation of radiopharmaceuticals, an exciting new approach for cancer drug discovery, and this role is essential in the delivery of our growing project portfolio. We are now seeking a Supply Chain Coordinator to support the management and delivery of our complex and dynamic project portfolio. The individual will work closely with both internal stakeholders (technical lead, resource holders, project managers) and external suppliers to map and co-ordinate the many activities that are required to deliver the portfolio. Critically, they will provide agile support to adjust activities in response to changing needs and circumstances and will play a critical role in identifying, communicating and resolving challenges as they arise. This role will suit an individual experienced in supply chain or logistics within an operational delivery environment, preferably within the life sciences sector, who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced setting. Attention to detail, a collaborative mindset and a solution-orientated approach to address operational challenges will be essential. Working on a daily basis with a range of MDC colleagues and external suppliers, they will make a significant contribution to delivery of the MDC Translational Imaging project portfolio. Main duties and responsibilities Within the Translational Imaging Team, develop and maintain a comprehensive, unified plan that details timelines, resources and interdependencies for a portfolio of projects. Ensure that plans are compliant with MDC governance and with license obligations. Respond to changing needs and circumstances by adapting plans, ensuring that there is effective consultation and communication with stakeholders. Model emerging project opportunities into the plan and communicate where action is required to manage resource or other operational barriers. Working closely with multiple internal and external stakeholders, co-ordinate activities to ensure that the project portfolio is delivered to time and budget. In consultation with Resource Holders, model and develop detailed resource plans for the Translational Imaging portfolio of projects that meet the overall scope of work within budgetary limitations and time constraints. For individual projects in the portfolio, work closely with Technical Lead and Project Manager to ensure that resources are fully utilised to meet the project portfolio demands Identify and communicate on a timely basis operational risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and where needed provide solutions to supply chain/logistics challenges that ensure contractual obligations can be fulfilled. Lead and direct the management of materials from identification of requirements through to managing stock levels and safe disposal. Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities within both operations and supply chain processes Create and manage a system to track and optimise the use of equipment, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime Experience, skills & competencies Experience and a track record of delivery in a Supply Chain / Logistics role, preferably in the life sciences sector Experience of working in a team environment to ensure timely and effective delivery of a portfolio of interdependent projects or activities. Solution orientated, removing barriers to ensure company success with a calm and level-headed approach Excellent communication and organisation skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask along with good analytical and reasoning skills Ability to juggle multiple tasks within the constraints of timelines and budgets and maintaining accuracy Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, managing the uncertainty inherent in an advanced innovation programme Excellent IT skills, to include MS Word, MS Project, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel. Excellent attention to detail whilst retaining the ability to see the ‘bigger picture’ Excellent organisational skills Experience of reporting of progress against plans and budgets Collaborative working style, able to work well independently and in a team environment Enthusiastic, proactive, self-confident, professional and adaptable. Excellent interpersonal skills, verbal and written communication skills aligned with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with peers, senior managers, and project team members Experience, working in the drug discovery sector would be an advantage.
