Priory Hospital Norwich is a 34 bedded acute mental health hospital which opened in 2020 across 3 wards situated in the town of Attleborough. The role of Nurse is to be part of an excellent multidisciplinary team to support our patients. Priory Hospital Norwich ensures that we put our patients at the centre of everything we do. We are a busy acute unit aiming to offer a high standard of care and deliver great outcomes for patients. Priory Hospital Norwich will also be opening a PICU ward later this year with new opportunities.
Job Advert Role Description:
1. Deliver prescribed care to a defined group within an agreed framework.
2. Assess, plan and deliver, with the patient and their carer/family, nursing care which takes account of patient choice and wishes and acting as the patients named nurse.
3. Accurately observe and engage with patients in order to assess their need and evaluate their progress.
4. Monitor and review Nursing Care plans.
5. Evaluate and respond to changes in patient condition and needs.
6. Deal proactively and effectively with suggestions and complaints from patients and their families/carers.
7. Contribute to a team approach to patient care in conjunction with all members of the Multi-Disciplinary team.
8. Participate in regular clinical and non-clinical meetings and attend other meetings as requested.
9. Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring as far as reasonable practicable a safe environment.
10. Maintain a continued level of personal professional development in accordance to preceptorship and revalidation.
11. Develop and maintain a good professional relationship with patients, colleagues and visitors responding promptly and courteously to requests, enquiries and suggestions.
12. Help to promote and to maintain an environment conducive to meeting the needs of the patient/relatives and carers.
13. Participate in clinical supervision and reflective practice at least monthly.
14. Undertake the role of Preceptor to newly qualified staff.
15. Work in accordance with safeguarding adult and children policies and requirements.
16. Ensure the requirements of the Mental Health, Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards are met.
17. Adhere to Medicines Management policies at all times.
18. Adhere to Priory Group policies and protocols and adhere to NMC Code.
