THE ROLE If you are at your best when the stakes are high and can offer calm, measured PR and communications advice in the eye of a storm, then this varied and stretching role could take your career to the next level. You will have the ability to analyse often complex, multifaceted scenarios and pre-empt a potentially damaging issues or crisis. Clients will include governments, corporates and the international HNW private client community. The work will be fast-paced and complex, and you will help clients prepare for, manage and emerge from difficult scenarios in which reputational, commercial and legal risk is high. While the focus on of the role will be engaging with the media and other key audiences, you will also work closely and regularly with lawyers, corporate investigators, professional and executive advisors. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES To establish trusted and long-term relationships with clients and networks, obtaining retained advisor status wherever possible. To work with the senior management team to devise and implement communications strategies which deliver results and support new client proposals. To lead delivery and project management of a number of key mid-to-large accounts and to set and deliver strategy. To manage broad, geographically diverse teams, to ensure consistent delivery and needing little-to-no oversight in terms of ensuring consistent delivery. To identify and pursue business development opportunities and new client relationships, developing referrer relationships and generating high quality proposals. To provide line management, training and development to the team and address team issues as required. To travel frequently for client delivery and business development. To act as ambassador for the company at all times. REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE Experience of working in a communications consultancy/client servicing environment An interest in geopolitics with an international outlook, ideally with cross-border experience. A good delivery network, drawn from 7-10 years of experience – likely to be in public service, business or journalism. Proven experience advising clients on reputational risk issues management and crisis communications Experience of working with governments and high profile individuals Ability and confidence to liaise with and advise clients and senior professionals, often single-handedly Demonstrable knowledge of the UK and international English-language media Creative, ambitious and confident to deal with client matters at all levels Excellent interpersonal skills, with a flair for growing and maintaining networks. Excellent media relations skills Excellent writing skills Adept at maintaining client service while juggling multiple demands Entrepreneurial/self-starter.
