We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic educator to join our vibrant secondary school in Darwen as a History Teacher for a maternity cover position starting in April 2025. About the Role: You will be responsible for delivering high-quality History lessons to Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students, inspiring a love of the subject while ensuring academic progress. This is a full-time position, and you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of teaching and learning within the Humanities department. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated History lessons in line with the national curriculum. Assess, monitor, and report on student progress to ensure every child reaches their potential. Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and critical thinking. Work collaboratively with the Humanities team to support curriculum development and enrichment activities. Contribute to the wider school community and uphold our values and ethos. About You: We are looking for a committed and motivated teacher who: Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) and a relevant degree in History or a related subject. Has a proven track record of teaching History at secondary level (NQTs/ECTs are welcome to apply). Demonstrates excellent subject knowledge and the ability to inspire students.
