Job Purpose
We are seeking a Commercial, Rights and Business Affairs Assistant for the BBC Sports Rights team, based in Salford. This role involves managing and supporting sports rights negotiations, contracts, and relationships, ensuring compliance and supporting BBC’s sports output.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative support including diary management, travel arrangements, meeting attendance, and note-taking.
2. Assist with the Sports Rights Enquiries service, responding to queries, clearing rights, and administering payments.
3. Maintain and update the Sports Rights Database and contractual documentation.
4. Act as a stakeholder contact and maintain relationships.
5. Use various systems (ACON, OnAir, SAP, Sports Rights Database) to update information and process orders.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential:
* Excellent organization, coordination, and time management skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office, Teams, databases, and administration systems.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
Desirable:
* Experience in business affairs, especially intellectual property rights.
* Understanding of production processes and sports broadcasting needs.
* Experience in sports rights and rights contracting processes.
