JOB DESCRIPTION EFAB Resourcing’s client, a highly successful engineering solutions provider and consultancy based in the North East, working within Nuclear, Fusion Energy and Subsea industries are looking for a Business Development Manager to join their team. The role will be responsible for driving growth and profitability by identifying and securing new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and expanding market reach. Responsibilities Assess market trends, future developments, and opportunities Identify development opportunities and agree a strategy with the Managing Director in line with the Market Sector Strategy Assist the Business Functions in producing information for proposal submissions and PQQs Advise the Managing Director of potential alliances, Joint Ventures, and Acquisitions Assist the Managing Director regarding operational matters Produce a weekly/monthly BD update report and support in updates during the monthly BD Meeting Support the BD Function in its delivery of company KPIs Requirements 1. Revenue Growth Target Achievement: Meeting or exceeding revenue and sales targets, which is a primary metric of success. New Business Opportunities: Identifying, pitching, and securing new clients or markets to increase business revenue. 2. Strategic Partnerships Partnership Agreements: Securing strategic partnerships, collaborations, or joint ventures that enhance the company’s market presence. Partnership Management: Managing relationships with existing partners to foster growth and profitability. 3. Market Research and Analysis Market Entry Plans: Researching potential markets, understanding competitive landscapes, and developing entry strategies. Customer Insights: Conducting customer analysis to identify needs and trends that can inform product or service development. 4. Sales Pipeline Management Lead Generation: Identifying and developing new leads through various channels such as networking, events, and cold outreach. CRM Management: Maintaining a well-documented CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system with updated and actionable data on prospects and deals. Sales Forecasting: Providing accurate sales forecasts and reports to guide business planning. 5. Proposal and Contract Development RFP/RFQ Responses: Writing and managing responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) or Requests for Quotations (RFQs). Contract Negotiation: Negotiating terms, conditions, and pricing in line with business objectives and profitability targets. 6. Relationship Management Cing their evolving needs, and ensuring continued satisfaction.lient Retention: Ensuring long-term relationships with key clients, understand Networking: Representing the company at industry events, conferences, and networking functions to build relationships with potential clients and partners. 7. Reporting and KPIs Monthly/Quarterly Reports: Providing regular updates to leadership on progress against business development goals, including key metrics and insights. KPI Tracking: Measuring and reporting on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) like client acquisition, deal closure rate, and revenue growth. 8. Strategy Development Growth Strategy: Developing long-term strategies for business expansion, including identifying new sectors, products, or services for the company to explore. Competitive Strategy: Recommending strategies to outperform competitors and capture larger market share. 9. Team Leadership (if applicable) Training & Development: Coaching and mentoring junior members of the business development or sales team to improve performance. Team Goals: Setting and managing individual and team targets to ensure overall success in business growth. Qualification Requirements The role is required to have a formal UK qualification in a field related to Mechanical Engineering or suitable experience Experience in a business development role, in the Nuclear, Fusion Energy and Subsea, or similar industry
