About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Planner to join a highly regarded planning team and contribute to a range of development projects. The successful candidate will support senior team members in delivering planning appraisals, preparing and submitting planning applications, and managing the planning process for a variety of clients.
This role is ideal for someone working towards their RTPI APC accreditation, looking to gain hands-on experience in a supportive and forward-thinking consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct planning history searches and high-level site reviews to assess development potential.
Assist in preparing planning appraisals, pre-application submissions, and planning statements.
Support the preparation, submission, and management of planning applications, appeals, and discharge of conditions.
Attend site visits, client meetings, and planning committees with senior colleagues.
Monitor planning applications and track policy developments that may impact projects.
Provide high-quality research and analysis to support planning strategies.
Assist in identifying and generating new business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
Requirements
A degree in Town Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field.
Working towards RTPI APC accreditation (or recently completed).
Strong knowledge of the UK planning system, legislation, and policy framework.
Excellent research, analytical, and report-writing skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with clients and stakeholders.
A proactive and adaptable approach, with the ability to work both independently and within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant planning software.
