As operations officer, you will be at the heart of our efforts to support Scottish businesses in reducing their energy consumption and transitioning to a low-carbon future. This role combines two essential functions: commissioning energy efficiency reports and supporting the financial operations of the BES programme.
Your work will ensure that businesses receive timely and high-quality support, and will play a key role in tracking project progress, managing consultant relationships, and maintaining efficient financial administration processes. What you’ll do
* Monitor and coordinate all consultancy framework activity to ensure the timely completion of qualifying reports within service level agreements.
* Support weekly and monthly reporting on commissioning and work-in-progress activities.
* Liaise with external consultants, Business Energy advisors, and internal teams to ensure a seamless customer journey.
* Assist in raising purchase orders, processing invoices, and tracking financial expenditures in line with policies and procedures.
* Support projects aimed at improving customer support mechanisms, internal processes, and data collection.
* Provide administrative support to the wider BES team, including issuing reports and managing data entry tasks.
What you’ll bring
* Strong time management and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
* Experience using administrative, tracking, and reporting systems.
* Demonstrable IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
* Ability to liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders.
* Financial administration experience, including processing invoices and purchase orders.
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, using initiative while following established processes.
* Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities.
