Group Health and Safety Manager Winchester £70K - £80K Property Maintenance Daniel Owen are proud to be representing a leading social housing contractor in the Winchester area that are looking for a brand new Group Health and Safety Manager to join their team. The role will be managing the health, safety team to build and engender a culture of health, safety and well-being. The Health and Safety Manager will be supporting the HS team in delivering health and safety programmes and targets in accordance with the companies strategic plans and building and maintaining the safety management system. This will involve delivering part of the internal audit programme, developing, and delivering the health and safety training programme, managing the accident and incident reporting process and undertaking investigations where necessary, compiling suitable reports and action plans and engaging with a wide stakeholder group on health and safety management and continuous improvement. The Role: Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following; Developing and implementing comprehensive health and safety strategies tailored to planned works social housing projects as well as reactive repairs, voids and disrepair projects. As a Group Health and Safety Manager, you will leverage your expertise to navigate challenges with finesse, using negotiation and influence to garner support from department heads, stakeholders, and external partners. Create H&S processes and procedures that align with recognised standards, to serve as a foundation for implementing effective strategies for continuous improvement and transformation. Conducting thorough risk assessments and implementing proactive measures to mitigate potential hazards. Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices. Providing expert guidance and training to staff members to foster a culture of safety awareness You will create a resilience, pragmatism, and confidence with your decision-making abilities as you tackle complex issues and identify opportunities for service enhancements. Managing a team of HS Advisers across all social housing maintenance work streams. To be successful in the role you will possess the following skills and attributes: NEBOSH or NCRQ certificate or equivalent H&S qualification or appropriate membership of a professional institution Previous social housing experience within major planned works projects. Proven experience of managing a team of HS Advisers within a social housing environment.
