Description
We have big ambitions - and we need someone to help us deliver them. We’ve recently refreshed our brand, and we’re in the middle of the biggest fundraising appeal in our history to build a world-class new Children’s Cancer Centre. To make it happen, we need our Marketing and Communications (MarComms) team working at its best - that’s where you come in.
As our Planning & Project Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our MarComms team, making sure projects run smoothly from brief to delivery. Every major fundraising appeal, brand-building campaign, and engagement activity that needs the support from multiple Marcomms team will come through you - so you’ll play a big role in shaping how we connect with supporters and drive impact for seriously ill children.
You’ll be the go-to person for teams across the charity, helping them refine and challenge briefs, manage expectations, and bring together the right MarComms expertise to create brilliant work. You’ll keep a close eye on deadlines, spot potential resource challenges, and check in on projects at key moments to ensure they stay on track. And you’ll also help improve how we plan, collaborate, and learn from what we do.
Salary
The salary for this position is £37,995 per annum. We operate a hybrid working policy of a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing the flow of work into MarComms, making sure projects are well-briefed, scheduled, and strategically aligned.
* Bringing teams together to scope out projects, develop creative responses, and deliver campaigns and activities that land with impact.
* Tracking progress across multiple projects, keeping things moving, and flagging any resource challenges.
* Improving ways of working, from briefing processes to reporting, so we can work smarter and more collaboratively.
* Helping teams learn and adapt, ensuring we capture insights from our work to inform what we do next.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
* Experience in project, planning, production, or traffic management, ideally in marketing, communications, or creative environments.
* An ability to keep multiple projects moving, balancing deadlines, priorities, and team capacity.
* Great relationship-building skills - you’ll be working across teams, bringing people together, and making things happen.
* An understanding of marketing and creative processes, with a big-picture view of how different channels work together.
* A mindset for continuous improvement - always looking for ways to make things run more smoothly.
