Job Description: Your new role As the production planner you will be responsible for all tasks associated to the planning of the arrival and departure of Hitachi trains through the Arlington site, working closely with fleet planners, engineering colleagues and key stakeholders on a daily basis. Liaise with the planning cell and production teams to identify and plan units in and out of Arlington. Liaise with GBRf to plan and prioritise all movements to and from site. Plan and deliver all on-site shunt moves with Arlington movers. Develop and maintain professional relationships with key stakeholders a nd maintain a customer focus. Compile and distribute missed maintenance records in SAP and liaise with Train Maintenance Centres (TMCs) to establish a thorough understanding of unit configuration on arrival and departure. Liaise with Modifications Managers to p lan the implement ation of fleet modifications on stopped units. Participate in gate review meetings to establish scopes of work with an understanding of risks and issues. Focus on future maintenance work: da ily; weekly; monthly; quarterly and annually in order to develop and co ntinually refine the production plan for units in Arlington. Expedite material demands and act as the immediate focal point. Identify and monitor any material issues which affect the overall production plan. Ensure defects in-service and emerging work requirements are incorpo rated into the plan. Comply with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) i n order to drive improvement. Utilise the SAP Maintenance Management System (MMS) and other IT a pplications (SOROS, HFMT ) where required in order to inform and develop the production plan. Participate and host conference call s and meetings. Track and report on output delivery. Willing to travel to other Hitachi sites for meetings and training. Prepare reports and give v erbal briefs as. Promote, support and comply with all health and safet y practices in the workplace. Undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in accordance with Hitachi’s new business demands as. Any other duties as directed by the Outstation Manager. About you Essential Licences / Competences Previous experience of maintenance and/or manufacturing plannin g, scheduling and production. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think and act quickly. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with k ey stakeholders. Behavioural Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to represent Hitachi in a prof essional manner at all times. Desirable Licences / Competences Intermediate IT skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, MS Project. Sound knowledge of railway operations and compliance to railway rules a nd regulations. Previous experience of using IT tools: SAP, SOROS, Trust, Bugle, Genius. Maintenance/ engineering experience within the rolling stock industry.
