Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board
The role is to ensure the highest standards of care for participants participating in the Bowel Screening Wales (BSW) Programme.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in promoting, leading, developing and delivering the BSW programme within Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board (CTMUHB).
The role involves assessments, attending endoscopy lists, consenting, and recording/uploading relevant information. Following participants to outcome the episode of care, liaising with relevant teams for follow-on investigations.
The post holder will attend Endoscopy and support participants, with emphasis on patient safety and dignity during all aspects of the bowel screening programme.
The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that policies and procedures are observed and meet the organisation's requirements.
The post holder will be expected to work across sites (Royal Glamorgan Hospital/Prince Charles Hospital/Princess of Wales Hospital).
Working week is over 5 days having a flexible approach to working hours/days to accommodate the BSW list within the service.
Main duties of the job
1. Participate as a member of the nursing and multidisciplinary team providing high standards of evidence-based care in delivery of the Welsh bowel screening programme.
2. First point of contact for participants who have received a positive faecal occult blood test.
3. Provide specialist advice, support, and continuity of care throughout the participant pathway.
4. Provide nurse-led telephone and face-to-face assessments.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 1st Level UK NMC Registration
* Masters qualification or relevant skills, knowledge and experience to its equivalency
* Certification in Bowel Cancer; Specialist Screening Practitioner from Liverpool John Moore's University
Knowledge
* Expert knowledge of colorectal physiology and anatomy, pharmacology, and other relevant treatment options
* Awareness of national political priorities and agendas relating to Public Health Wales and Bowel Screening Wales
* Non-medical radiology referral training
Experience
* Significant post-registration experience; Clinical experience in Colorectal/Gastroenterology Oncology or acute clinical setting
* Experience in leading a team
* Experience as Specialist/Bowel Screening Practitioner within a Bowel Screening Programme
