An opportunity exists for an ambitious Quality Engineer, taking a lead on customer quality and with responsibility for customer liaison and concern resolution, warranty campaigns, as well as programmes of new product introduction. Working closely with design and production, to assure the seamless integration of new components. The Quality Engineer will also be involved in supplier quality activities and systems auditing. The role will involve the application of various quality methodologies and tools such as PPAP, APQP, 8D, A3, PPS, FMEA.
Key skills
* Previous experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing setting - with automotive industry background the ideal
* Strong quality engineering toolkit – APQP, PPAP, 8D, FMEA, control plans
* Root cause problem solver, accustomed to employing techniques such as Ishikawa, 5 Why’s, A3, Pareto etc.
* An engineering background and qualification highly desirable
* Knowledge of IATF16949 and VDA standards
* Some previous experience in leading teams would be advantageous
* Through effective communication skills, able to gain credibility with an international customer base
* Ability to evidence quantifiable achievement around a wide range of quality disciplines, improving quality performance, scrap reduction, reducing customer complaints, sustaining the use of proactive problem-solving tools, implementing preventative actions, and assisting in the development of a proactive Quality function.
