This company is currently looking to expand its technical shoring team by hiring a Graduate Civil Engineer. This role provides an opportunity to work within a collaborative environment, focusing on the design of temporary works using a wide range of proprietary equipment. The successful candidate will be report to the Design Manager, who will oversee workload, training, and professional development while working closely with team members and other professionals in the technical department. Key Responsibilities Create preliminary and construction designs efficiently, following established codes and regulations (CIRIA publications, BS5950, Eurocode 3 and 7), primarily for shoring (ground support) temporary works. Develop design drawings using Autodesk AutoCAD and Revit. Assist with the workload of other technical teams as needed. Collaborate with sales and operations teams to ensure successful project delivery within set timeframes and budget limits. Contribute to the development of new tools and software aimed at improving efficiency for the technical team. Help maintain and update the online suite of design tools. Candidate Profile A degree in Civil Engineering (BSc, BEng, or MEng) with at least a 2:1 classification or equivalent. Knowledge or experience in: Engineering mathematics (essential) Geotechnics, including Rankine's Theory (essential) Structural steel design and simple beam mechanics (essential) Familiarity with Eurocode 3 and 7 (preferred) Retaining wall design (preferred) Structural and stress mechanics (preferred) Skills: Strong time management abilities with the capacity to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Technical Proficiency Proficient in Microsoft Office (required). Familiarity with Autodesk AutoCAD or Revit (preferred). Experience with Geosolve WALLAP, CADS Piled Wall Suite, CADS A3D Max, Tekla Tedds, or Structural Designer is advantageous.
