Job summary We are looking for an enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our Orthopaedic Therapy Team. Our team comprises of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Apprentices and Therapy Assistants. As a team we cover the trauma and elective wards at Dorset County Hospital across a 7 day service. We promote education and service development and use our connections with Bournemouth University, Health Science University College and surrounding Trusts to ensure we are delivering the best care and service to our population. Main duties of the job The therapist works as an integral member of the Occupational Therapy team To undertake all aspects of clinical duties and to carry a significant caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner, including those with complex presentations To work at an advanced level and be professionally and legally accountable for a specialised patient caseload, and decide priorities for own work area, without direct supervision. In conjunction with the Team Lead, the post holder participates in a rolling programme of education, clinical evaluation, audit and research across the speciality. To promote and demonstrate safe, timely and appropriate discharge planning. To provide leadership and clinical guidance for junior staff, therapy assistants, students and ward staff.
