Join to apply for the Knowledge and Library Services Officer role at Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust.
We have an exciting opportunity to work in a friendly and supportive SWB Library and Knowledge Service team. The service supports the information needs of the Trust's staff and students, by facilitating access to books, e-resources, training, current awareness and more.
The role is varied; no two days are the same. We offer the flexibility to manage your own workload, unsupervised on occasion. You will also have the opportunity to use your initiative and creativity to contribute to service development. Experience within a library environment or an information service is essential.
Opportunities for continuing professional development are encouraged. The expectation is that the post holder will work towards a CILIP ACLIP Library qualification and support will be provided.
The post holder will also have the opportunity to work on our brand new Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH) Library site.
Please get in touch if you would like any information or an informal chat.
For more information on this role, please see the attached support information. This will give you a better overview of the role and requirements.
In This Role You Will:
* Provide an efficient enquiry service to our staff/students who are based both in acute and community sites.
* Promote member registrations, increase sign ups to evidence alerts and provide inductions to all staff and students.
* Provide articles, help users how to search the library catalogue, promote the library services both onsite and social media.
* Create attractive displays every month on different health topics and align library promotion of health campaigns with the Trust priorities.
* Maintain physical library spaces and stock.
Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust (SWBT) is an integrated care organisation with a budget of approximately £600 million and over 7,000 staff. Diversity and social care is at the core of what we do as the Trust provides Community and Acute Services to over half a million people in an urban centre that demands massive regeneration and has substantial premature mortality.
Our new acute hospital, the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital (MMUH), opens this year and will provide care to our local population from first class, purpose-built premises. As a result, the base of this role may change to MMUH. If this is applicable to your role, you will be informed during the recruitment process and continue your application with this understanding.
We Have Three Strategic Objectives:
* Our People – to cultivate and sustain happy, productive and engaged staff.
* Our Patients – to be good or outstanding in everything we do.
* Our Population – to work seamlessly with our partners to improve lives.
