Contract Length: 6 Months Ad hoc hours - as required - 100% onsite when working (No set hours available)
Location: Gosport
IR35: Outside
Pay Rate to Intermediary: Market Rate
Security Clearance: BPSS
Spinwell is recruiting for a Marine Electrician for an excellent opportunity within the public sector.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE MARINE ELECTRICIAN
The Marine Electrician is directed by the Fleet Maintenance Manager in the primary role to:
* Operate as part of the maintenance and engineering team who provide technical maintenance and repair of the training yachts
* Repair and maintenance of all yacht electrical systems. 12/24V
* Care and maintenance of 12/24V batteries
* Assure the quality of Electrical work
* To ensure that the routine maintenance of electrical systems as listed in the JSASTC Maintenance Schedule is carried out.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE OF THE MARINE ELECTRICIAN
* Experience in working in the maritime environment with Electrical systems on commercial sailing or motorboats.
* Knowledge of Working with Diesel heating systems
* Working with Electrical diagnostic tools
* The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications and experience in working in the maritime environment with Electrical systems and on commercial sailing or motorboats.
* Formal qualification (ie City & Guilds Level 3 Or NVQ Level 3 in Marine Engineering and Electrics or Electrical apprenticeship or similar qualifications) OR equivalent work experience.
Suitable applications should be able to show evidence of:
* Working with power tools and WKSP static machinery
* Working with Electrical diagnostic tools
* Knowledge and good practice of health and safety
* Knowledge of working with 12/24V/230V electrical systems
* Knowledge of Working with Diesel heating systems
* Knowledge of working with Electrical PAT Testing
