Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Finance Assistant to join our clients. The ideal candidate will support daily financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role is essential for maintaining the integrity of financial data and assisting in various accounting tasks.
Role: Monday – Friday 09.00 - 17.00
Pay: £12.64 an hour
Duration: Ongoing until Christmas; for the right candidate, there may be an opportunity to transfer onto their books after 12 weeks.
Duties
1. Working with a team of Purchase Ledger administrators to support the processing of transactions onto the purchase ledgers, including imputing to supplier accounts.
2. Record Direct Debits and post payments onto the finance system.
3. Process invoices, payments, and expense claims accurately and in a timely manner.
4. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all transactions are properly documented.
5. Monitor the shared inbox for Purchase Ledger and update supplier files for new suppliers and changes to standing information.
6. Check items on purchase invoices and ensure correct analysis to supplier accounts and VAT postings. Check bank and other changes.
7. Perform general administrative duties related to finance, including filing, data entry, and maintaining financial databases.
Qualifications
1. A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred but not essential.
2. Previous experience in a finance or accounting role with emphasis on Purchase Ledger.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel; familiarity with accounting software is a plus.
4. Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
5. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
6. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
7. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
