Are you looking for a new challenge? Are you a senior critical care/ emergency department nurse/AHP with extensive Band 6 experience looking to embark on an advanced practice journey? The Critical Care Outreach Advanced Clinical Practice Team (CCOT ACP) are recruiting.
We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and innovative members to join our existing team and we welcome applicants from nursing and AHP backgrounds.
The UHS CCOT service was established in 2001 and is a 24/7 acute care referral service covering approximately 1200 adult beds across a large tertiary centre working collaboratively with the ward teams across all specialist areas within Southampton General Hospital & Princess Anne Hospital. CCOT ACPs provide high quality advanced level care and management of acutely/critically ill adult patients, adult patients who are at risk of deterioration or other immediate life-threatening events.
You will be joining a highly skilled team working closely with the General Intensive Care Unit and other acute care teams/services across UHS. The CCOT ACP role is cutting edge within the remit of Critical Care Outreach services crossing multi-professional boundaries.

As a Trainee Advanced Practitioner (ACP) you are expected to work in conjunction with the 4pillars of Advanced Practice as outlined in the HEE Multi-professional Framework (2017): Clinical practice Leadership and Management Education Research
This is a training post in which the practitioner will deliver, under the supervision of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner or Designated Medical Practitioner (DMP) an advanced level of clinical practice within the speciality area.
You will develop the knowledge and skill required to provide expert clinical management and care to patients with critical care needs within the ward environment.
You will complete a clinical portfolio, providing evidence of the HEE capabilities for advanced clinical practice, complete the National Outreach Forum Enhanced and Advanced Capabilities in practice along with completing a recognised MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
This role is for a 24/7 service and includes day shifts, night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
We have a dedicated Consultant Intensivist providing regular formal clinical supervision and education. You will be supported to complete the National Outreach Forum Enhanced and Advanced Practice Capabilities alongside the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice academic pathway. You will have protected time to develop your advanced practice portfolio within the 4 pillars of advanced practice
