Runcorn MCP Limited is a 50/50 joint venture between Vynova (Part of the International Chemical Investors Group (ICIG)) and Inovyn (Part of the INEOS Group) which operates a state-of-the-art membrane electrolysis plant for the production of chlorine, caustic soda, and hydrogen. The plant is one of the largest cellrooms in Europe and is located at the Runcorn Site in Cheshire.
JOB PURPOSE
To support the control electrical engineering requirements for Runcorn MCP Ltd plants to ensure codal compliance to internal and external standards, budget, production, and improvement plans.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
* Support the development of an equipment specific preventive maintenance programme for all C/E equipment to ensure maximum plant availability and minimum maintenance cost.
* Monitor key operating parameters and identify and recommend corrective actions and improvements in the plant control strategy, which deliver operational improvements.
* Manage technical investigations of CE equipment related failures through root cause elimination to deliver operational and cost improvements.
* Develop DCS and SIS systems to ensure maximum advantage is delivered targeting efficiency improvements, variable cost reductions, and reliability of SIS systems.
* Lead, implement, and commission specified projects to install new assets, develop existing assets and processes, or produce procedures and systems to improve operation of existing equipment.
* Help to prepare and implement improvement plans so that team members continuously improve their contribution to the manufacturing objectives and are involved in the delivery of improvement plans.
* Manage technical investigations of CE equipment failures through root cause analysis.
KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED
* Degree Qualified Control/Electrical Engineer
* Knowledge of electrical and instrument standards
* A broad base of knowledge of instrumentation applications and an up-to-date understanding of latest techniques
* A sound base of knowledge of Hazardous Area and equipment earthing requirements is preferred
* Flexible approach to support planned and unplanned outages including plant turnarounds
* High concern for standards, especially relating to Safety
* Able to develop and coach others, including those without C/E expertise
