This is an exciting opportunity to join a 4 partner highly regarded GP training practice in a purpose built health centre in Mountain Ash on a salaried basis for 5 sessions per week wherever possible adhering to safe BMA workload.
The post has great support from our 4 motivated and involved partners, along with our experienced permanent clinical team which includes 3 salaried GPs, Pharmacist, Nursing team. We also have extended support from our cluster team which includes Physiotherapist, Mental Health Worker and Pharmacist.
Main duties of the job
* In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/herself available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery face to face, on-call sessions, telephone and online consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
* Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
* Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
* Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
* In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
* Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
* Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
* Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
* In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
* Completion of medical reports as required.

Job responsibilities
The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. Qualifications
* GMC Registered, not subject to suspension.
* Currently on performers list.
* Clear enhanced DBS check.
* A friendly and inclusive team player who is calm under pressure with a commitment to develop.
* Excellent record keeping and communication skills.
* Evidence of CPD.
* Minor surgery skills.
* QAIF management.
* Experience using INPS Vision and Docman.
Experience
* Experience of working in primary care.
* Able to work autonomously and bring fresh ideas.
