As the HSQE Officer, you will be responsible for Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental systems, maintaining and reviewing the scope of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO 45001, and managing the overall HSQE performance within the company.
We are recruiting for a HSQE Officer to:
1. Conduct regular, formal site audits and carry out inspections as directed in line with current legal requirements.
2. Ensure that a record of statutory inspections is kept for all activities and plant equipment.
3. Deliver and complete statutory notifications to the HSENI and co-ordinate inspector site visits as required.
4. Hold on-site responsibility for compliance with all aspects of ISO9001, ISO14001 & ISO45001 and liaise with external Consultants and Auditors as necessary.
5. Organise and chair site Safety Meetings.
6. Conduct preliminary accident investigations and statutory notifications, while keeping Senior Management updated.
7. Assist Management in compiling cost records and forecasts for all issues associated with Health & Safety including, but not limited to training and purchases.
8. Ensure operations within your area are compliant with the Company’s environmental standards and in particular, the working plan defined in the PPC (Pollution Prevention & Control) permit.
9. Comply with the environmental management system and minimise environmental impact where possible.
10. Generate & communicate site specific RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) documentation.
11. Review sub-contractors' RAMS (Risk Assessment Method Statement) documentation & Insurance Certification.
12. Maintain and communicate site Emergency Plans to all employees.
13. Complete COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) Assessment, including periodic review.
14. Complete DSE (Display Screen Equipment) Assessments, and follow up on action items.
15. Complete Fire Risk Assessment, including periodic review.
16. Develop quality inspection and test plans, providing assistance with quality inspections.
17. Ensure a safe culture and an appreciation of the materials, processes, and systems is embedded within the organisation.
18. Monitor staff to ensure HSQE compliance.
19. Ensure First Aiders are available and that all necessary supplies and certificates are maintained.
20. Manage and recommend PPE for on-site employees.
21. Work with the HR Manager to deliver Health & Safety induction programmes for new on-site employees and contractors.
22. Organise H&S training and Toolbox Talks within the various teams.
Essential Criteria:
1. NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent).
2. Health & Safety Officer Experience, ideally in a Manufacturing or Construction environment.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Ability to communicate with individuals at all levels including clients, contractors & consultants.
5. Demonstrate a pro-active approach.
6. Demonstrate a methodical approach to solving clients' requirements and requests.
7. Demonstrate the ability to work calmly under pressure.
8. Be a highly motivated individual with initiative, self-confidence, and the drive to work under their own direction or within a team of professionals.
9. Be keen to develop their individual capability and career development.
10. Hold a valid UK driving license.
