Job Details
Your new company
My client is a leading brand in the Pharmaceutical centre and has a global footprint. An opening is available for maternity cover which will be for a minimum of 12 months. Ideally, you will start at the beginning of November to allow a handover. Initially, the role will be office based for the first 2 weeks, then hybrid working of two days in the office will be the working pattern.
The tax specialist will cover all taxes and it will have a focus on tax compliance and reporting, with opportunities to be involved in advisory aspects. The position involves working closely and in collaboration with the business and the accounting services and tax functions locally and globally as well as external tax advisers.
Your new role
You will
1. Support the management of the direct and indirect tax compliance processes (namely corporation tax, VAT, plastics tax), which are undertaken by the in-house tax team, the accounting shared services centre and/or outsourced to external tax advisers, ensuring all deadlines are adhered to
2. Support the oversight of the monthly group and annual statutory accounts reporting process as it relates to tax, which is undertaken by the accounting shared services centre ensuring all deadlines are adhered to
3. Assist the team dealing with any tax enquires or queries from HMRC
4. Support the team to provide tax guidance, advice and support across all taxes to the business and wider organisation
5. Annual PSA preparation and submission (assisted by an external provider)
6. Assist on various ad hoc tasks, projects and transactions including tax governance related issues
7. Support the implementation of the Global tax policies, including transfer pricing
What you'll need to succeed You will be a qualified accountant or tax professional, available to interview during October for a November start. Previous in-house experience at Manager level is desired. Exposure to multiple taxes would be an advantage, both direct and indirect, perhaps with a leniency towards indirect taxes. Excellent written and communication skills are a must, along with the ability to hit the ground running, work autonomously and research as needed. You will report in and receive support from the Director of Tax.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a salary of up to £800 per day. Flexible working options are available along with hybrid working after two weeks, with 3 days at home and 2 in the office.
