Then National Highways has the role for you We’re looking for a Senior Engineer to join our teams based in either Birmingham, Telford or Nottingham to lead and coordinate the activities and resources involved in the identification of asset needs and development of early solutions. Working on scheme development, you’ll identify need on the network, delays on the network and congestion, and will consider options of how to improve these and modelling of those options. The Senior Engineer will work closely with supply chain and respond to customer enquiries as well as working on specifying surveys and scheme appraisals. These roles will have a hybrid working approach, where typically you’ll spend 2 days per week in the office and 3 days working from home. Ensure the health and safety needs and wellbeing of customers and employees are fully considered and accounted for throughout the planning and delivery of each service activity. Lead the development of early solutions for improvements and/or renewals, including the compiling and checking of relevant documents, evidence and options for value management, taking into account new techniques, materials, buildability and costs. Identify, prepare briefs and support delivery of survey works that support the improvement and/or renewal of assets. Provide technical support to Project Managers Develop the technical briefs provided to the design and construction contractors for improvement and renewals work. About you. Degree or HND in relevant discipline and appropriate experience, or equivalent Knowledge of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges standards and their application on the highways network Experience of traffic or transport modelling software tools such as Linsig, Arcady and Picady Experience in AutoCAD (desirable) Good knowledge of CDM 2015 About us.
