Overall job purpose:
Working in the Development Department, the role is to test and build new and modified products to the test specifications and methods defined by the development engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Performing component and device testing in line with the test specifications and methods defined by the development engineers
* Providing detailed test reports to feedback to the development team
* Assisting in the assembly, modification and re-work of prototype devices
* Validating new test methods.
These tasks are not intended as an exhaustive list of the post holder's duties. The post holder is expected to carry out any reasonable request as deemed appropriate by their Line Manager to support business needs. Specific responsibilities and authorities are defined in procedures relevant to the role.
Experience / Knowledge:
Essential
* Minimum of 2 years industrial experience in a suitable engineering company (or University/ HE)
* Experience in technical report writing
* Excellent IT skills.
Desirable
* Experience within an engineering test department.
* Experience of testing electronic or medical products.
* Experience working within a quality-controlled development system e.g. ISO9001.
* Ability to solder

Qualifications in an engineering discipline
Desirable
HNC or higher in Mechanical or Electronic Engineering
