Autism Anglia is a well-established independent charity. We have opportunities available for Senior Support Workers on a full-time basis. Working from our Peldon Campus in Colchester, Essex. The successful Senior Support Worker will assist people who are within the autistic spectrum some with additional Learning Disabilities. Enabling them to maximize their potential and develop life skills across multiple activities. The successful Senior Support Worker will work as part of a team to help those in your care to help them achieve their own life goals, through person-centred planning. Ideally you will be able to drive to be able to reach our site. This role is well suited to someone with previous experience working as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), or Carer. Caring for Autistic individuals, or those with Learning Disabilities in a healthcare setting. Autism Anglia is dedicated to providing ongoing training and supervision, continuing professional development and support as well as an extensive induction on commencement of employment. Location: Peldon Campus, Church Road, Colchester, C05 7PT Salary: £23,537.35 per annum (£12.20 per hour) Hours: Full-Time Hours; 37 hours per week, overtime available The role: Day-to-day responsibility for the running of the service, ensuring a high standard of delivery. Leading staff managers and allocating duties to ensure that all the people wesupporthave their needs fully met Toactivelypromote the development of eachindividualusing a holistic approach, which demonstrates, anunderstandingof their personal, physical,emotional, spiritual and developmental needs. Supportingthe teamleaderwith rota management and maintaining clear communication Encouraging eachindividualperson, wesupportto be asindependentas possible recognising thatemotionaland practicalsupportmay be required Applications are welcome from Senior Support workers who: Ideally you will hold or are working towards your HSC Level 3 Previous experience working as aSupportWorker, Healthcare Assistant or Carer, preferably with Autism or Learning Disabilities Previous experience in a similar role Ability to identify needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals who may have communication needs. Experience in working with people with Autism and intensive behaviouralsupport.
