ABOUT THE ROLE We are looking to recruit on behalf of a young man living in his own home who is supported by a team of dedicated support workers. This young man requires 24/7 support to enable him to live the life he chooses while also maintaining his wellbeing and independence within his local community. His family are very close by and offer their support to the team. Duties will include but are not limited to the following Supporting with Personal care Supporting to attend activities. Supporting with general cleaning of the home Preparing meals Supporting the client to go shopping. Learning the clients communication style and engaging with him this way. Administration of medication Ensuring the clients choice is promoted. We are looking for a Bank support worker who is available to support for flexible hours per week. Flexibility to cover additional hours as required is preferred. Working days are flexible to meet the requirements of our client. A range of training opportunities will be available, particularly highly personalised training in order that excellent person-centred support can be provided. Public Holidays will be paid at time and a half. There are a range of shifts available, including weekday shifts, weekends, and sleep nights available. ABOUT YOU Desirable Qualities and Essential Qualities A willingness to learn and undertake training both in person and online. (E) To be able to lone work for long hours but to also work with the wider team. (E) An ability work in partnership with the family (E) A creative approach to help the clients life be fulfilled (E) Able to respect the clients autonomy and ability to make choices (E) Experience of in health and social care (D) Experience in autism and learning difficulties (D) Experience of working in the clients home (D) Experience of non-verbal communication (D) Experience of working with PBS plans and de-escalation techniques.
