Role Description
To plan, check, monitor and carry out maintenance work and repair of all Company equipment, machinery, and buildings. To ensure conformance to all legislative requirements, codes of practice, best practice and Health and Safety requirements for the safe, and efficient operation of the business, including machinery, buildings and services.

Main Responsibilities:
* Effectively schedule, and maintain the Site Preventative Maintenance Programme, and also maintain legality through a programme of statutory inspections, working closely with insurers, as required.
* Undertake preventative maintenance/condition monitoring checks, as appropriate, to ensure production machinery/equipment is maintained correctly, safely and operates as efficiently as possible.
* Ensure that all breakdown and repairs of equipment are carried out as efficiently as possible and keep “down-time/unavailable time” to a minimum.
* Monitor equipment/machinery performance using agreed Key performance indicators, and investigate opportunities for improvement as identified. Ensure all work carried out has the appropriate risk assessment and method statement in place prior to work commencing, and all activities comply with H&S and engineering legislation/codes of practice and Company Policy.
* Troubleshoot, repair and maintain a wide variety of electro/mechanical packaging machinery.
* Monitor and maintain all building systems as assigned.
* Carry out repairs and maintenance on ripening rooms, fire and alarm systems and any other machinery and equipment as assigned.
* Perform a wide variety of general building maintenance repairs across the site/premises as required.
* Develop and maintain an asset register for ISS.
* Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors.
* Inform the Maintenance Manager of any mistreated use of machinery or equipment.
* Recommend modifications to improve health and safety or machine/line efficiencies.
* Ensure that any malpractice is corrected, and any concerns are immediately reported to the Maintenance Manager.
* Support and assist in maintaining the required hygiene standards within the Company.

Job Context/Environment:
* Site based
* Production/Warehouse/Factory environment
* Core working hours however a degree of flexibility is required in order to meet the demands of the business.
* You will be required to wear a uniform that denotes you as a Maintenance Technician, which provides high visibility at all times and provides relevant protection.
* You will be required to successfully complete training relevant to this position such as Electrical Safety Training by a Company approved contractor.
* To work on a shift system in order to provide maintenance cover, which will include weekend cover.
* Training will be given as required i.e. First Aid, Fire Warden, Manual Handling, MEWP, FLT and PPT etc.
