Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our client's team in Reading, Berkshire. As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of mechanical systems within site facilities.
Job Duties:
1. Ensure all Planned Preventative and Reactive Mechanical Maintenance is completed to schedule ensuring that appropriate documentation is completed and submitted in a timely fashion.
2. Perform rectification of defects, ensuring all safety and performance standards are met in accordance with the contract.
3. Carry out routine maintenance work associated with all mechanical systems.
4. Supervise specialist contractors and ensure all certification/documentation is completed in accordance with client and company requirements.
5. Liaise with and respond to the Helpdesk ensuring that urgent maintenance tasks are responded to within appropriate timescales.
Required Qualifications:
1. Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Proven experience in a similar role.
3. Strong problem-solving skills.
4. Excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge and Skills:
1. This position requires ONC/OND, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant Mechanical discipline.
2. Proven experience within a building services environment.
3. Articulate, numerate and IT literate.
4. The ability to establish, implement and monitor high standards of excellence in areas of quality, safety and operational performance.
5. Have good decision-making and communication skills.
6. Be resilient under pressure and be able to converse confidently with staff, suppliers, and customers at all levels.
