Are you a Registered Nurse who is highly motivated, enthusiastic and compassionate with an interest in neonates? We have vacancies for Band 5 nurses, giving you the amazing opportunity to make a difference in the lives of newborn babies and their families. You will have supervised time within the unit to gain the experience you need to care for the babies. Working through competencies in Special Care and High Dependency will give you the background to undertake our in-house Neonatal Course through which you will become Qualified in Speciality (Neonatal Nursing). This will enable you to care for babies requiring the highest level of support in Intensive Care.
The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit is one of the three tertiary centres for the Eastern Neonatal Network and part of the East of England Neonatal ODN. The unit admits babies requiring tertiary care including surgery and neurosurgery. A spacious and modern unit, it is part of the Perinatal Centre and is located in The Rosie Hospital. We have a Bliss Baby Charter Bronze Award and as part of this, updated areas of the unit to improve the neonatal journey for families. Also hosted in the trust are the Regional transport Service and the core ODN Team, which also offer unique opportunities to staff wishing to broaden their experience outside of the NICU.
The post holder will participate in care of infants on the neonatal unit within the designated band 5 pathway.
Assess care needs, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care. To participate in the supervision and mentorship of non-registered staff.

This vacancy is for Registered Nurses with full NMC registration. If you are an internationally trained nurse that has not passed their OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination), you will not be considered for this role and will be automatically rejected.
