Band 2 Support Worker, Full Time, Permanent
Larkfield is a beautiful 6 bedded registered care home with nursing services. CQC registered to provide accommodation for persons who require nursing or personal care and treating disease, disorder, or injury. Our bedrooms are spacious and can easily be adapted to meet the needs of the occupants. We have a sensory room for the individuals we support to meet their sensory needs. Staff are trained to a high standard to meet the dynamic nature of health and social care.
We are in the village of Charlwood, proud of our peaceful and idyllic setting. We are a 30-minute walk from Horley Town centre, with Crawley town centre and Gatwick airport about a 10-minute drive away.
We have a team comprising of nurses and health care assistants (band 2 and band 3) who provide 24-hour care, supporting individuals with different needs such as autism, mental health, and learning disability. All our activities are tailored to meet individual needs and interests.
Main duties of the job
* Support people using our services in line with their individual care plan to promote as much independence as possible.
* Assist with all aspects of personal care (supporting continence needs, showering, bathing, etc.) in accordance with individual support needs.
* Participate in the ongoing monitoring of the health (mental and physical) and behaviour of people using the service.
* Report and record all relevant information and report to senior staff any changes in the person.
* Act as a key-worker for named individuals within the service.
* Promote, support, and deliver a range of activities within the service and in the wider community.
* Provide person-centred support as identified within the care plan ensuring respect, privacy, and dignity at all times.
* Help to maintain and develop relationships between individuals and their families, friends, and significant others.
* Participate in and contribute to meetings.
* Involve people in the development of their own care and support packages.
* Ensure confidentiality in all matters relating to each person is maintained.
* Maintain the safety of people at all times, alerting senior staff to any identified risks whether perceived or actual.
* Involve manual handling, including assisting people with walking, sitting, and other activities of daily living and by means of wheelchairs and mechanical aids within recommended guidelines.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Level 2 qualification in health or social care related topic (Desirable).
* Care Certificate or willingness to complete.
Experience
* Providing care or support to an individual, either paid or unpaid (Desirable).
* Full UK driving license and willingness to drive Trust vehicles including a small minibus.
