Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Oversight Oversee the accounts payable function, ensuring accurate invoice processing, payment runs, and reconciliations. Review, approve, and correctly code vendor invoices in compliance with company policies. Maintain relationships with suppliers and contractors, addressing payment inquiries and resolving disputes. Manage deposit accounts, ensuring balances align with third-party deposit protection schemes (e.g., TDS). Financial Oversight & Reporting Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Ensure timely landlord payments, swiftly resolving any issues and providing detailed explanations for any discrepancies. Property Lettings Support Reconcile contractor payments and verify invoice approvals with property managers to ensure expenses align with property budgets. Track and process landlord payments with full transparency and accuracy. Compliance & Policy Adherence Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal company policies. Implement and maintain effective internal controls to prevent errors or fraud. Team Leadership & Development Develop and implement training programs to enhance team efficiency and expertise. Lead initiatives for process improvement to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of accounts payable operations. Essential Criteria: Proven experience in accounts payable or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory position. Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail. Ability to handle multiple priorities and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Desirable Criteria: Professional accounting qualification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, or equivalent). Experience in the property lettings or real estate industry. Knowledge of regulatory requirements, including VAT compliance for property transactions. Familiarity with property management financial operations, such as contractor/vendor payments and landlord reporting. Proficiency in SME accounting software.
